About Janet
Janet shares great compassion, respect and understanding of various mental health issues experienced from all walks of life. With curiosity and empathy, Janet creates a safe and non-judgmental space for clients to explore, process, and respond to life challenges.
Janet has an extensive range of experience working with adults and seniors population from a strength-based, and trauma-informed approach. Through personal and community narratives, Janet values the unique life experiences each client embodies, helps enrich self-awareness and insight, and enhance resilience, confidence, relationship building and overall well-being. Janet received training in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Dialectical Behavioural Therapy, Mindfulness-based Therapy, Cognitive Processing Therapy, Solution-Focused Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, and Relapse Prevention.
Janet is a member in good standing with the Alberta College of Social Work since 2016. She completed her Master of Social Work (MSW) at the University of Waterloo and Bachelor of Social Work (BSW) at the University of Calgary.
